Potato Solutions Ltd.

pratical storage management & training

Our approach

After 30 years we think we have seen it all…. Potato Storage challenges us all the time, From the crop that sits within, the weather that arrives, all affects the dynamics we can see and interact with. This is what drives us to make the correct decisions.

We have developed a method of store management called ICE.

Inspect, Check, Establish

This helps both the new and seasoned store managers acheive a better level of storage.

Working to save cost, maintain quality, and enjoy what we do!

About us

Award winning Storage Nerd Tim Kitson has been involved around potatoes for most of his working life. In 2012 he set up Potato Solutions to support growers in storage and other aspects of the industry. Spending time in his early career developing and working with end users relating to quality specifications. This has given him an understanding of what is needed in the outurns of various storage crops, fundamentally to being profitable.
In 2018 the business needed to grow due to its success, so Tim took the next step and brought in support with Tom. This then became a learning curve for the business, as training was needed to achieve Tim’s high expectations. Developing a uniquie strategy Tim called ICE, he has supported others to look at their stores with a proactive approach. And in 2026 the training continues as it takes on Alex to continue the journey, this added capacity will again bring flexibility to the business and more opportunity to help more storage areas. Most recently Holly has joined us, previously working with processors and around time spent in seed and packing gives extra support. A highly approachable team always questioning the, what, when, why and looking to improve wherever we can.
